II High Level Conferences Cycle: Social Security in America towards the End of the XX Century

In this book compiles the papers presented during the Second High-Level Conference Cycle, titied: Social Security in America towards the End of the XX Century, which has as its main theme Social Security Reforms and Economic and Social Policies. Such event was held at the seat of the CISS, on September 2, 3, and 4, 1996, and its main objectives were to promote the scientific and multidisciplinary analysis of social security reforms, as well as the definition of the role that economic and social policies are playing in the American countries, where there had been carried out modifications to social security systems. AII this, through the debate, the dialogue, the honest exchange of criteria and experíences, and the reflection on the recent trends on the matter. With this purpose, there were invited lecturers from Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, United States of America, and Uruguay. Besides, the Second Cycle was enriched with the attendance of especialist from the International Labor Organization (IL0), and the Economic Comission for Latín America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).

Segundo Ciclo de Conferencias de Alto Nivel: La Seguridad Social en América, al Término del Siglo XX

En este libro se recopilan los trabajos expuestos durante el Segundo Ciclo de Conferencias de Alto Nivel, intitulado: La Seguridad Social en América al término del Siglo Veinte, el cual tuvo como tema principal las "Reformas de la Seguridad Social y Políticas Económicas y Sociales".

Dicho evento, que se llevó a cabo en la Sede de la CISS, los días 2, 3 y 4 de septiembre de 1996, presentó como objetivo promover el análisis y el estudio científico y multidisciplinario de las reformas en materia de seguridad social, así como la definición del papel que las políticas económicas y sociales están jugando en los países americanos en donde se han implementado modificaciones en los sistemas de seguridad social; todo esto a través del debate, el diálogo, el franco intercambio de criterios y experiencias, y la reflexión sobre las tendencias recientes en la materia. Para tal fin fueron invitados conferencistas de Argentina, Canadá, Colombia, Chile, Estados Unidos de América, México y Uruguay; igualmente, el Segundo Ciclo se vio, además, enriquecido con la presencia de especialistas de la Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT), la Asociación Internacional de la Seguridad Social (AISS), y la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL).
